Name of Assignment: Photoshop Animal Subject: Art Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. Getzen
In this assignment, we were tasked with using photoshop to create a hybrid animal. We learned how to use different tools in Adobe Photoshop to make our animals look as realistic as possible.
I feel that this project addresses information skills and thinking and problem solving skills. I used my information skills to learn Adobe Photoshop, and I used problem solving skills to work out how to make my animal as realistic as possible, despite having never used Adobe Photoshop before.
This assignment just makes me really happy because of how absurd it is. Ms. Getzen encouraged us to try to combine weird animals for a bigger challenge, and I think I made mine look pretty realistic, which I'm really proud of.
This project built on both my information skills and my thinking and problem solving skills by requiring me to step outside of my comfort zone to learn something completely new and foreign to me with (semi-distracted) instruction in a short amount of time, and then make a product that I was proud of and happy to have shown to my class.
I had never used any kind of photoshop software before this project, so I had to learn how to use it, then make my animal within the span of a few days. A lot of it was very meticulous and required a lot of attention to detail, which was also challenging.
I've never done anything like this before, and while this was not technically the first time I've used Adobe Photoshop, it was the first time I'd done something with more than two tools, so it was almost completely brand new to me.
Any future art classes or any graphic design courses I may take throughout the rest of my school career will definitely be aided by the knowledge I now have of Adobe Photoshop.
